About

Sid Stacks is Klauztrophobik

Mr. Stacks is the record producer while Klauztrophobik remains the musician. I provide album-quality instrumentals as well as comprehensive mixing and mastering services. I model myself on the record producers of the past, notably in the 1950s when a record producer's job was to both identify talent and develop it.

Make Music Together

Collaboration may not always lead to success but will always develop new knowledge and skills.

The cab ride to my new apartment had Outkast banging, followed by new Usher and Ludacris jams. This was when I touched down in the U.S. for my first time in 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia and even then, I knew a strange energy had taken me captive.

When the energy seeped through every vessel in my body and soul, it was clear I was meant to carve my path in music. Before long, I became fully immersed in the rhythms of hip hop, dance, and electronica.

I live to produce beats, assist with songwriting, mix tracks down and master records. My immediate goal is to become a better songwriter and an even better mastering engineer.

So lets not just make records together. Let's make magic.

The Producer

The Art of Making Beats

The art is one passed down from the DJ's of the past, like Kool Herc, Jazzy Jeff, Quik and others.

With a deep respect for the OG's, I mix boom-bap and dusty samples with vivid live instrumentation and lush ambient textures, to create a modern sound with the warmth of the past.

The Engineer

Mixing

Mixing is neither a science nor an art but rather an intuition.

Understanding how to make different tracks sit together well in a mix is one thing, but to make them complement each other is the real challenge.

I continue to learn and use the techniques of the greats like Yoad Nevo, Young Guru and Tony Maserati, to name a few.

The Master

Mastering

Mastering is the process of making the final mixed product ready for the consumer to listen.
